Grilled Green Beans With Lemons and Green Onions
Very easy recipe that's riffed from Chris Schlesinger, who is at least one of the "grill gods" out there :B
1/2 large handful whole fresh green beans, rinsed and washed
1/2 package green onions (we had that leftover, so in it went)
1/2 lemon, sliced
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
salt and pepper
2 - 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 - 3 sheets tin foil
1 throwaway grill pan with holes (still have a bunch left over, and I'll say it again, they are the best freaking things since sliced bread :B)
All you have to do is peel off any ugly looking stems on the onions, and then cut off the bottoms - and then cut them in half to spread them out.
Lay out the green beans with the onions right on the tin foil, then coat with olive oil - season, then lay on the cut lemon and seal up the foil into a big packet.
Put on the grill pan, and turn on the grill to 350 F and grill for 15 - 20 minutes - just give a quick flip about halfway but leave it alone to cook!
Then take out and serve (I had an extra throwaway aluminum pan, so I was all set) !
...Only thing I would have done differently is maybe to boil then blanch the beans first, to get them a bit softer (they came out a bit "raw" but for green beans that's not really a bad thing)
...Or let them cook on the grill to the 20 minute or longer mark to get them a bit more charred. :B
Other than that, enjoy!

I like them more on the roasted side myself, so I think I'll do longer next time :3
I -also- did a romesco sauce...but, not impressed with it since I used fresh tomatoes and peppers instead of roasted.
And you -really- need to have roasted tomatoes, red peppers and garlic, otherwise it really doesn't sing :B
