Wait ? So she's over his shoulder .. yet her whiskers are touching his ear ? That's on top of his head ? I'm just imaging her head on his shoulder while she has some crazy long wisckers that twisted up and curl all the way to his ear XD

Otters have crazy long whiskers. They serve as feelers or sensors when the water is murky. If she's looking over his shoulder her whiskers would reach, easily.
