Description: Aureus is an Anubian-style jackal with a golden tan color instead of the traditional and more common black color. Anubis-style (Anubian) jackals are generally characterized by a long thin muzzle and tall pointed ears that tend to have a straight inner edge and curved outer edge, the way that Anubis is normally shown in ancient Egyptian art. She can be drawn with a narrower graceful muzzle, which is a typical Anubian style thing. Her tail is thin and fairly short, it is only knee length when held straight down (real jackals do have fairly short tails compared to a wolf). Makeup: Aureus most often appears wearing Egyptian-themed makeup consisting of an 'Eye of Horus' pattern of eye liner around her eyes and may also have faint horizontal lines inside her ears (ear liner). She almost always appears with human-like long white hair (which is actually a wig). Aureus can wear gold nail polish on her finger and toes, but it isn't needed. She may also have gold body paint on her ankles, wrists, upper arms and tail (optional); she can wear jewelry instead of the body paint, but the body paint is easier to draw.
Jewelry: Aureus is usually wearing a piece of gold jewelry made of three connected earrings on her left ear, it has two small hoop earrings midway up the outer side of her left ear that are joined with thin gold chains to a stud earring at the base of that ear. This ear jewelry is optional but it is one of the easiest ways to identify her. She sometimes has a golden collar or choker on her neck (the design can vary).
Clothing: Variable, she tends to be shown wearing fairly skimpy ancient Egyptian or desert themed costumes, with no specific concern for exact historical accuracy. Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11271736/ , http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25046172/
Expressions: A coy sultry expression is perfect for her.
Setting: Egyptian themes are popular, especially for jackals, so they work well for Aureus but she can also be shown in modern outfits/backgrounds or even sci-fi.
Bio: Aureus doesn't have a character bio (biography) yet, though she's not shy about her body and does seem to tend to be teasing, coy, and sultry. She is an adult and may appear in pinups, which tend more toward teasing and suggestive than explicit, since I prefer Aureus to be hinting, teasing, tasteful, classy and/or artistic as opposed to just furry prawn. She can appear in artwork that is rated 'Mature' (blue) on FA but isn't likely to appear in explicit artwork that would be rated 'Adult' (red) on FA. In addition to some fanservice for the furry community, artwork of her may contain references to ancient Egyptian culture and/or humorous references to the modern 'furry' community.

Aureus is not related to my 'sona in any way, the only similarity between them is their names which are both based on the Latin word Aureus meaning golden. Canis Aureus is the species name for the golden jackal (back before a genetic study discovered that the 'golden jackals' in Africa were actually a separate species).
