This one is just kinda linking the last part with the next part... with some hints wiggled in.
After being turned over to the director, Moosifer's life became a never ending stream of just following him around and smiling when she was introduced. She was always introduced as his assistant, but was never trusted with any information or given any duties that would reveal any important information. She was told that she was his bodyguard, but the people Krennic worked with couldn't be told that so she was publicly called his assistant.
When he worked in his office, she was parked outside the doors. Sometimes she was allowed inside to sustain the "assistant" charade. When they traveled, she would be sat quietly beside him. The most exciting times were when went to visit other people. Many of the aliens he visited seemed to enjoy walking and talking, so to be an effective bodyguard, Moosifer was allowed to follow. She would listen. She would pick up bits and pieces of conversations and try to piece together what was going on. The most she had gathered was that the director worked with weapons. He was part of the science department, though. He definitely didn't look or act like any scientist she'd ever seen. She could tell from the pieces she picked up that he was making personal connections, trying to climb up the ladder. All the young mutt could do was make guesses as to who she was really working for and what he was after.
Many months went by with her being left to guard director Krennic from seemingly nothing and she still didn't know much about the man or his goals. They traveled to a planet on the outskirts of the galaxy, one filled with lush vegetation and colorful inhabitants. It looked to be a very wild and somewhat primitive planet Moosifer decided as she exited the ship behind Krennic. They were greeted by a furred alien wearing colorful clothes in a simple style. He and the director began to walk to a hut with Moosifer following and a few Death Troopers behind her. The entrance to the hut lead imemadiately to a set of wooden steps. When they got down the stairs, the primitive facade disappeared as they entered room lined in metal and technology. Intrigued, the mutt tried getting closer to the two men ahead of her to listen in. After receiving a look of warning from the director, she backed off as far as her collar would allow.
Must be talking about special technology, she guessed.
The rest of the visit, she followed and peered into windows they passed. Some areas were more technology filled rooms, but others were entrances into what looked like caverns. The aliens in the rooms were studying what others seemed to pull from the caverns. Small rocks or crystals, Moosifer couldn't tell. Before she knew it the trip was over and they were being led back up the stairs and outside.
As the group walked towards the ship, blaster fire began to come out of the trees towards the hut. Moosifer's ear twitched and her heart raced, finally she was in her element. She pushed the director down to the dirt and motioned to the Death Troopers to form a barricade between him and the lasers. After making sure Krennic was down, she leapt up with her blaster in her paw and began firing at the treeline. The shots continued to come but weren't aimed at the group, they were aimed at the hut entrance they had just come from. Almost angry that the fire wasn't meant for them, she grabbed Krennic's arm and yanked him up and began pushing him towards the ship. He boarded the ship and she stayed to see what would happen. As he distanced himself from the action, her collar began to pull at her neck towards the ship. Not wanting to be choked, she glumly walked backwards to the ship keeping her eyes on the hut. Krennic was yelling at the alien he had met with to get the area locked down and a dozen guards filed out from the underground section of the hut. The doors to the director's ship closed and they took off back to Coruscant.
Back on their base planet, Moosifer dressed for another day of blandly protecting her owner. She was doleful after getting a taste of excitement and having it taken away. She went to director Krennic's office and took her place outside the doors, but was called inside fairly quickly. She stood opposite his desk and replied "yes, sir?"
The director was sitting in his large black chair and leaned forward to talk about her actions on the distant planet. Sure she was in trouble, her ears dropped. He stood and walked around the desk to her and.... congratulated her for her performance. She blushed as he mentioned how quick she was to defend him and commended her bravery.
"I just wanted you to know that I appreciate what you did," he said, "and to remove this." He took out a small chip and reached up to her throat, it was finally happening. The collar was being removed.
"If you'd throw yourself over me in a shower of lasers, you don't need a collar to keep you by my side."
"Thank you, sir" she replied, somewhat flustered.
He nodded to end the exchange and turned to his desk to grab a hologram and handed it to her. "Now go find senator Jorjen or his assistant and give him this."
Moosifer walked out of the room and thought about how unceremonious her graduation was but she also began to walk further away from him than she had been allowed to for almost a year. She was finally being trusted, sort of.
