I remember reading the original novel way back in the day.
They left it in the air about whether or not Bunnicula was supernatural or not, the dog was significantly smarter and more level-headed and the cat was probably just as neurotic.
After seeing some episodes, I'm getting the feeling that it's better to think of the cartoon as it's own thing.

Thank you! I read the novel after I saw the cartoon. It was not what I expected. I don't think Bunnicula was a vampire in the novel. He never did anything supernatural. The cat just thought he was a vampire for some reason. And, yes, the cartoon is so different from the novel it really is it's own thing. I like both the novel and the cartoon.
