Vanessa has had to deal with a lot of stress and trauma in her life. And to make it a little more damning, she's had to handle most of it on her own. She has her friends, true, but she doesn't trust all of them with her vulnerabilities. Sure, she trusts them with the fact that BodyGuard is after her, and that she used to be a part of them. She trusts that her team has her back in a fight, and in some cases can help control her when she loses control. But being weak? Being emotionally wavering or mentally distressed? She hasn't trusted anyone with that. Kelsi is probably the closest who's gotten to that vulnerability, but that's been dashed away with Vanessa almost murdering her.
Cathy might come closer than Kelsi, with the added boon of both of them coming from BodyGuard. This has its own draw-backs though.
Vanessa has trouble sleeping. Part of this has to do with a rigorous training and fitness regime. But one of the major reasons is she's been plagued with nightmares and night terrors, due to her time trapped in BodyGuard. Flashbacks of being under their control and experimented on the medical table are a constant reminder each night. Reminding her of her fears, for the day that BodyGuard finds her, hurts her loved ones, uses them against her, and ultimately makes the world forget that Vanessa exists again. 84 would return to the cell she escaped from, and Vanessa would be erased.
Vanessa wants to protect everyone and everything she loves, with her newfound freedom. This in mind, she knows that this stress does not help her in this endeavor. However, there's no one she trusts with such certainty that she can help treat this. So until then, she goes to bed. She wakes up multiple times throughout the night. And when the sun finally rises, she gets up and does her morning routine.
People need her to be strong. They need her to handle that physical stress. At least it helps her forget.
