HELL-O, you lovely people!
Bit of a rush to get dressed and off to work today so I don't quite have the time to give this rather finely nuanced point the time it deserves but *raises a digit* as I did say I was going to bring this up... a week ago... maybe two at this point... or three... dammit... I'll go ahead and throw it out there.
*sets her chin* Look, I know I've not been around and I'm sorry for that. Cut me some slack! For the last week or so I've been on the couch clutching a pillow to my guts any time I ate anything. S'a bit of a rough time. innit?
So, On to this fun little number... *scritches her neck* Y'see, a few weeks back I posted up a touch on the notion of 'Polyamory' http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24431354/ ... yeah, that right there... and the way that I know many furrs who are or at least claim to be such and unfortunately... *brow knits* Just read the info there, you'll get this 4-1-1. One of you lovely watchers brought up a point which I had planned to talk about as well, that being this.
Now, I take no issue with any adult of sound mind and consenting, adventurous spirit taking a robust interest in smooshing their juicy tidbits with another consenting adult of similar spirit, or two or three or ten. Go nuts, it's GOOD for yer. We are sexual creatures by nature and there's no shame in being good to yourselves and each other. Tell me about it when you're done, if you didn't have the decency to call me first. *laughs* However, as is unfortunately the case, many people, often the inexperienced and a bit on the sheltered side, tend to find a term or concept they... well.... they don't really understand but they kind of like the idea of- or at least they like the idea of it in as much as they can understand it- and so they run with it, seeking the image or connotations associated with that concept. It's an unfortunate point you can see in everything from sexuality to political views, religious beliefs, and so on so on so forth...
Ugh... gotta get to work... to use myself as an example and to wrap things up here... *huffs, smiles* I, myself, am a polyamorous person. I am in a polyfidelity relationship. *eyebrow arcs* This doesn't mean I just sleep around with whomever I wish. Not that there's anything wrong with that. *waves a digit* Nobody needs to be "slut-shaming" anyone. I have two people in my life, a Lord and Lady, husband and wife, plug and socket... oo... that one was a bit vulgar. Strike that... But I have two persons whom I love very much, more than I can readily express and I am beholden to them in the very real sense of a "marriage" for lack of a more readily socially understood term. *smirks* Maybe you do tickle my fancy. Maybe you REALLY do. Maybe I'm keen as kittens on doing workplace inappropriate things both with and TO you. In many cases, this option is on the table and won't likely be a problem... But, if either one of them says "nope" then the issue is no longer up for discussion.
Just to be clear, this is not being 'aimed' at anyone in particular or any group.

Hit it right on the head. This is actually why I've had negative experiences with both polyamorous relationships that I've been in when a partner is local (a majority of my poly partners are LDR's, given the nature of the Internet and lack of finances). Said partner always sleeps with someone thinking that I'd be okay with it, because "it's poly and that's how poly works, right?" And then I find out, get understandably pissed due to the breach of trust, and somehow I'm spun as the villain for freaking out. Both times. If I'd been asked directly if I was okay with what they wanted, especially by both people involved in said infidelity, I may have very well signed off on it. We may never know.
*touches your cheek softly* I'm sorry love. I would help in any such endeavor if I could ...will if I [i]can[/i].... It seems the biggest stumbling block for almost everyone when it comes to this point is a mix of both misunderstanding the concepts involved and, for lack of a less negative way to say it, sheer jealousy and/or covetousness.
For my part in the matter- I feel much better about myself and I know my partners do about our relationship knowing that no matter what situations arise, they will always come first. Thus we all have both more freedom as individuals but also more trust AND respect for each other as when faith in anything is tested it ALWAYS means more because it has actually been put to the test and proven worth the effort...

I'm sorry you would have such troubles love. I spent the better part of last night listening to a few workplace colleague's relationship woes. One is in a marriage with no communication so they're both unhappy. Another is getting out of one where there was no communication so neither was happy... *sighs, smirks sadly* It seems we have an epidemic, no?

I do wish more people understood this. Being poly isn't "I fuck everyone and don't care". Trust, respect and love are just as important as with any other kind of relationship structure.
On the side of visuals - the fellow still reminds me of that handsome chap from Buffy (I forget his name by now...) And I really like the outfits you gave us *smiles* The one you're in is quite similar to your uniform for The Work, looking back on this.
