Yet I think I might need to go over where these two are going to go.
Ray and Wallop do not remember their lives before they crawled out of the same river of toxic waste. All that Ray can remember is that he knows something about what caused the Big Bang 30 years ago, and wants those involved to be punished for their stupidity.
Ray's powers grow with him as he makes his way to the castle. From simple atomic breath and flame shooting, learning how to fly in the air like it's water, a sharp piercing tail and eventually gaining enough power to use the military's biggest weapons against them. His hansom features make him the most likable Raidie the Loyalists have seen, which makes villainizing him difficult.
He has the same mind controlling powers the other Core Boss's have, but he chooses not to use them to make minions do his bidding. Where the Ruling Boss, Jim (more on him later), has forced his gang to do horrible things against their will, Ray believes that freedom and free thought will unite the people once again. The act of one side trying to control it's people to the point of slavery is why they've been divided for so long. He has it out for Jim and the General of the Loyalists and that is his only goal.
This sort of message Wallop admires most about Ray. Wallop arrives like a sponge, taking in things that he's never seen before with a fresh face, and Ray's observations are often most correct. The Loyalists are just as enslaved the the Raidies, and so long as people want to help Ray fix it, Wallop wants to make friends with them.
Only down side is that Ray is insanely nihilistic and rarely wants Wallop to fallow him. He pushes away the little spider and mocks him for his optimism, and only commends Wallop when the spider acts aggressively to their enemies. Ray's goal focused mind means he gets impulsive, and if Wallop wasn't there to see things at all angles, their efforts would get misconstrued into simple minded anarchy. Yet he still doesn't get really why he, a being with a good heart, fallows Ray. Something inside him draws him to Ray...maybe he'll find out what if they stick together long enough.
