Written descriptions of characters, whether in stories or as documents in their own right, often conjure different visualizations in the minds of different readers. For some people, particularly if they are not visually oriented, it may be difficult to arrive at any clear mental images. Even the author may have only a hazy or general idea of what his (or her) creations look like.
In some degree that’s the situation with the main characters of Anasazi’s Road. To help me clarify their appearance in my own mind, I’ve commissioned portraits from a variety of artists and looked at the results. Sometimes an artist suggests, through details in an image, a new idea I hadn’t considered previously. Sometimes an artist misses the mark—but even that can be useful, because it forces me to figure out why, dredging thought processes up from my subconscious into the light where I can examine them.

coonkun to serve as guides for me when I begin illustrating the stories. They are as close to my direction as one reasonably can expect from another individual not privy to one’s internal thoughts and impressions. I may make alterations when it comes time to create my own artwork, but that is not the fault of the artist; it is more that I may pursue a slightly different approach to the design and construction of the characters’ heads, in particular the ears, to accommodate headgear such as hats and caps.
The primary reason for selecting coonkun is his specialization in the age and build represented by Ana after she has reached a healthy weight. I particularly want to capture that leggy coltishness of a teenage girl on the cusp of womanhood, which is a goodly part of Ana’s initial attractiveness to Tom. The other two characters, particularly Tom, are farther from this specialization, but it’s good for any artist to stretch beyond familiar ground.
The final art was a year late, due to the artist’s underestimation of the scope of work, carelessness with equipment, and lack of communication; in fairness, the 50% balance payment was waived in compensation. This illustrates the necessity for a professional artist to take good care of tools, to be certain what a commission entails before embarking on it, and to stay in touch with clients!

Glasses! I must steal him and have my wicked way with him, for he has glasses and I have a thing for glasses
All those different character-portraits are sure getting me really interested in the story ^^ I'll have to thoroughly study the synopsys to get myself even more restless about it getting out here x3 Can't wait ^^ is of course also caused by a female with the same kind of troubles and insecurities and such. ....in which nosey PE teachers don't really help by calling the parents asking if I eat enough and stuff. How many times do I have to tell them, I do not have an eating disorder and gobble constantly so as not to lose any weight. The only reason I lost weight this summer holiday is because I lost muscle mass from not doing anything (Normally I bicycle about 20 kilometres a day)
Oh well, can't wait ^^ *hops about*

Heehee! Somehow I doubt he’d resist all that much. Of course, Ana and Angie might have something to say—but they might not say no. You’d have to be very charming and ask their permission. . . .
I hope you enjoy the synopses! Ana is skinny and underfed mostly because she was poor with a good-for-nothing bum of a father for the first twelve years of her life, and for the four years after that was a runaway hitchhiking around the western states. She’s had a hard life, but she hasn’t let it make her bitter, and once she’s in a loving home she’s able to do all sorts of things like see a therapist.
Wow, what nosey teachers! I suppose it’s the way things are these days, but I hope society shifts back to a better balance of concern, privacy, and the sovereignty of the individual. I admire you for cycling that much—I try to keep up a more moderate level of exercise, myself, and I should be a bit more aggressive about it.

I would very neatly ask for the ladies' permission to have some fun with Tom ;) Or Isa(belle) would very neatly ask for the ladies' permission to have some fun with Tom xD As she's modeled after me and has the same interests ;)
Ah, hooray for happy Ana getting good things like a good therapist =3 I hope she gets really healthy and happy <3 And that her stupid father gets to do some time for not treating her well *huff*
Bleh, my PE teacher may mean well, but he's really incredibly nosey D'x Oh well, I'll only have PE for a few months as it's the last year, so when I finish all things I need to do for the subject I won't have to put up with his nosyness again. Hah! And the 20-kilometer-thing is also partly forced by school, as it's a 10km ride there. But at least it keeps me healthy and fit ;)

They might give it to you or Isa, although Tom and Ana, and later Angie when she joins them in a permanent relationship, do have an agreement about how they handle such things. Any two or all three of them can play, but if anyone else is involved, they all have to agree to it and they all have to be there—no going behind anybody’s back!
Ana goes on a regimen of diet and exercise to build up her muscle mass, body fat, and bone density to healthy levels. Since she’s a touch less than five feet (about a meter and a half), she never gets much heavier than around ninety pounds—roughly forty-one kilos—which is about half of Tom’s body mass.
Her father challenges her attempt to become an emancipated minor, but fails because he so obviously is an unfit parent, and he is ejected from the courtroom. At the end of the day, when everyone leaves the courthouse, he attempts to assault Tom with a stolen knife. Tom is able to hold the younger, smaller, and rather drunk coyote off for the second or two it takes to draw his concealed pistol, but it’s a very near thing.
The shoplifting and the assault are parole violations, so he goes back to prison automatically. A few months later, he is killed in a fight with another prisoner. Ana, as the next of kin, has to go back to the reservation where she grew up, and where she swore she’d never return, to settle his pitifully small estate. She goes with Tom, and while there learns more about her past that her father never told her. That will be covered in one of the short stories of part two, Anasazi’s Town.

don't worry, Isa's very wellmannered (though a bit neurotic and ranty once in a while), and would never want to do anything that might cause trouble to the relationship those three are in. She'd feel incredibly horrible if such a thing would happen, and she hates doing things behind others' backs, anyway. Wouldn't want it to become official 'cheating'
Hmmm, the diet I do, the real excercise I don't. I really should get started on some sport again to build up my physical condition. I guess I should keep the bicycling up, and perhaps look into getting a sportschool-subscription. Will have to find a job first to fund it, though D: Because now I'm a poor little girl getting only about 20 euros a month for one lousy job: running and bicycling around delivering commercial-pamflets *ughness* Not enough by far for an eightteen-year-old. BEcause I need money to fund the craving for a drawing tablet and drawing software with. They're so incredibly expensive, but since my new computer can run them (though it's a powersucking bastard, 680W), I should try get them now, now that I don't have to worry about the rent yet and such since I still live with my parents.
Oh my, I'm looking forward to reading your stories <3 They sound very lovely, without too much drama in it that it becomes unrealistic =3 I'm looking forward to a good readin' ;) Good riddance to bad rubbish, that fater of hers *huff*
