So, I wouldn't say I actually like Liliana as a character, though she is growing on me. She's sorta having a redemption thingy going on ever since she joined the Gatewatch, but she still fucked up my man Garruk. Not cool Lili, no cool.

Anyway, I threw Maya into her clothes, the specific outfit being from her Liliana of the Veil printing. That's the most iconic (and played) incarnation, as Steve Argyle (the artist) did a VERY nice job of rendering her. I found a expanded version he did that had a PAINFUL amount of extra detail and less clothing.

For my process, I decided to go gigantic resolution to capture all these details, and tried (once again) to change up my line thickness. I was sorta all over the place shading-wise, and never went full comic-book line shading. The purple death fire stuff is my attempt to force myself into developing a coloring style beside cell shading. Still resistant.

This is sorta a callback to all the old Pryomancer drawings I did of Maya, a sorta powerful-sexy vibe. Yes, I know that it would make more sense to have Maya in Chandra's outfit, but the thing is, I hate Chandra.
