"We aren't scaling towards a storm. We're diving into a hurricane's maw." - The Battle of Jagrash.
A younger Kayne Steel-Eye grips onto his executive rod in this depiction. Kayne joined the Grand Navy as an officer when he reached maturity. He had likely met commissioning requirements to surpass lower ranks and began as a junior ICO (Interception Command Officer) which is a similar rank to a lieutenant. He opted to work hard towards becoming a naval officer, rising from a background that has since vanished. Kayne gained a respected and fierce reputation for brutal efficiency whilst serving, participating in several skirmishes and the most famous Battle of Jagrash. As a deck officer, he had no pilot experience, which was unusual for a Vox (fox). Yet he rose to the rank of Captain's Hand aboard the Vehement. Kayne wears a metallic optical eye (hence his name), which is presumed to further amplify his vision in some way. Kayne commands natural authority and operates with a cool charm which sometimes turns cold. He unveils his feelings to to no one even when he alters the tone of his voice. Kayne made an effective executive officer. Those who came into contact with him tended never to hope for another encounter.

I know everyone gets tired of the lore, so know that the story I'm planning to use to introduce the Clockworld will actually involve Kayne! So he is definitely a character to invest some interest in.
