I think it's time I started sharing photos from Harbour City Fur Con!
For those who don't know, Harbour City Fur Con (HCFC) is a new con held for the first time in Sydney at the end of July.
It was my first proper fur con and it was... okay.
The con itself was perfectly fine (which is pretty good when you consider it was run by first-timers) but my near-crippling anxiety got the better of me so I didn't enjoy myself too much.
Undoubtably the highlight for me was the fursuit walk, as I could safely hide behind the camera and keep myself from my anxiety through taking photos.
The walk itself was out in public - a 2km walk from the con hotel through Hyde Park in the middle of the city to the fountain you see in the background.
It was awesome seeing the public reaction, I remember there were two girls who just started screaming and racing across the park to get photos with some of the suiters, they couldn't believe they had actually run into some furries.
Unfortunately I'm not happy with most of my pictures - in order to look 'professional' I took my DSLR which I haven't used for years and ended up taking photos that were either under- or over- exposed.
Thankfully I also took my regular hand-held and the photos I got with that were mostly good.
But there's still a dozen or so photos I think are good enough to share, so let's get sharing!
Here we have Pongo (couldn't find his FA, he's @Pongo_T_Pup on twitter),
fulton,
taubu_lion and
Jones_Lion (I think, need confirmation)
I love the kid in the background, such a great look of bewilderment.
If you appear in this photo, feel free to contact me and ask for the original, full-sized file, I'll be more than happy to pass it on!
