“I’ve only got but the one eye. The sights that it has seen are something a million pairs are safe from now.” - Kayne "Steel-Eye".
Kayne is a feared figure across the Hegemony. His reputation exceeds the deeds he has performed. He arose from a background in the Hegemony Grand Navy, but no one can trace his origin from before. He uses his steel-eye to intimidate others into revealing their true selves. The cane he carries came from the wooden-beam of one of the Xcyships he served aboard. He claims the cane is his motif. Kayne at times will attach his former command-rod to the device to use when accessing the upper levels of the city.
What may be noticeable is the Vox-tail he wears as a tie. As he possesses his own, it is not his own. Many have reinforced a rumor that this is the preserved tail of Deltsi Conglomeration Magnate, Oswald V. However, this is not an insult or threat by any means. A preserved tail from a deceased Vox worn by another is a sign of respect in Vozh culture. Because the tail is small and somewhat adolescent, it would seem it belonged to a child. Some speculate that Kayne has a hidden past that remains undiscovered.
Kayne is an agent in service of the Hegemon, though he falls under no known jurisdiction. Other agents exist in the city of Maji with a similar rapport and are believed to operate under a similar authority.
