After months of delay, I have finally finished the first page of "Flying Wolves." The comic is set in a World War 3 and follows the story of Thorpe Chaser, a young Australian pilot who joins the Royal Malaysian Air Force. He eventually joins an elite squadron of the RMAF, assigned all over the war, and turning it's tide.
I'll publish a prologue of "Flying Wolves" soon to give you a backstory of the entire war, how it started, who are the allies and axis, etc. All you need to know for now is that Malaysia is one of the biggest millitary powers of the allies, only outsized by China and the US, fighting on the Pacific, Indochinese, European, Middle-Eastern and Korean fronts.
So the format of the comic is that it will be in chapters. At the start of each chapter Thorpe will make an entry into his journal. So this is the first chapter: Welcome to the RMAF

Oooh now, that is an interesting idea... Seeing as they are in a male only environment (i presume) it might happen... always good to have a bit of emotion in there. If you don't wanna make it a gay relationship maybe he could meet a girl at some point?
I personally was toying with the idea of making Todd in wardogs Bi, maybe get it on with Jack or something. Heh.
Do what you think would be best for your comic, bud, but I say it's good to have romance in an action. How many action films do you see wihout a love interest?
Oh, and i meant the indefinate 2 year hiatus. I love Colin and Aiden... Sigh....

Technically the Mig-29,Su-30 and the J10 are all fourth generation aircraft able to challenge the US F-15,F-16 and F-18. The Mirage F1 is third-generation aircraft on par with the F-4 phantom, its a good plane but the planes mentioned above are surperior, the Mirage 2000 compensated for this though.
Well, even more technically speaking, they're considered 4.5 generation fighters, highly advanced 4th generation jet fighters characterised by the best computer systems, avionics, and the technnological advancements of the 90s and 2000s.
I honestly don't beleive in all this 5th generation stealth crap. They are relying more and more on BVR missiles and computers, and the whole stealth fighter thing becomes meaningless in a close-quarters fight. Sure for bombers it makes complete sense, but not fighters. At the way those planes fight you might as well have a much cheaper SAM system. Practically acheives the same thing and does it in the exact same way: computerised, missiles, completely reliant on radar and very limited movement!

I don't believe in the stealth crap neither, the US is spending too much money on the F-22 when they spend less money on upgrading the current fighters we have now like the F-15,F-16 and F-18. BTW I looked up on the Royal Malaysian Air Force and I have to say I'm actually impressed, they have a variety of fighters, they have the Russian Su-30 and the MiG-29 and they have the American F-18, so that's a pretty good modern air force, the Malaysian military seems to be very modern and up-to-date.
And would you beleive the F-35 doesn't even have a gunsight?! They are going down the road of the F-4 Phantom. I mean, when asked on how the plane seems to be reliant too much on missiles and how very little emphasis has been placed on maneuverablility their response just made my jaw drop. Just read this excrept from the Wikipedia article on the plane about it's weapons system
Rather than manoeuvring with thrust vectoring, or canards to line up the target directly ahead of the aircraft, like 4.5 Generation jet fighters, the F-35 does not need to point at the target to hit it. It uses combined radio frequency and infra red (SAIRST) situational awareness to continually track all nearby aircraft, the pilot's helmet-mounted display system (HMDS) for displaying and selecting targets, and High Off-Boresight (HOBS) weapons. The helmet system replaces the dashboard-mounted head-up display used in previous generation fighters. As Northrop Grumman puts it "maneuvering is irrelevant"
*facepaw* This is the fighter all these NATO countires have to use? Man, I seriously feel sorry for them. At least the Typhoon's being used in the RAF, Luftwaffe, IAF (italian) and the SAF (Spanish)
And thank you for the kind words on the RMAF. I am proud of our air force. It is quite modern and I went to the LIMA (The Langkawi Airshow) and our boys in their Su-30s and MiG-29s put up quite a show! It was amazing what they could do! I am quite confident of my country's millitary capability.
You know, we're actually slowly phasing out the MiG-29s (they're old already) and we're looking for a suitable replacements. Rumours are we're talking to Mikoyan Gurevich and could become the first customers of the MiG-35

I know that unfortunately the US Air Force is becoming increasingly too reliant on technology, they think that electronics alone will win wars but yeah I'll prefer a MiG-29 to any American fighter any day, at least if you get close the MiGs will easily outfly them and shoot them down, but they got to get close first.
It's not that hard to get close to them, just send a chaff or EMP missile to screw with their radar, fly in close, spot them visually and then just shoot the buggers!
Plus, the stealth bit is not that hard to defeat, really. When you think about it, they're stealth planes, right? SO they musn't emit or reflect any kind of radar signature, right? Well, in order to find you to shoot down, what do they use? Radar. And to use that radar what do they have to do? Emit a radar signal, which you can then track the source and pinpoint with passive radar.
And their solution to this? Don't rely on your on-board radar! Insted, wherever these planes go there'll be ground-mounted radar trucks to do the scanning for them, and the informationis then relayed to them in this way. Well, doesn't this seem stupid? All I gotta do is destroy the trucks or let off a jamming signal

did you ever watch the show Dogfights on the history channel? There was an episode called 'Dogfights of the future' and you can probably find it on youtube, but anyway you may find it bias though, it shows in one part 4 F-22s slaughtering a squadron of MiG-29s, Rafales, and Su-30s! When I watch it I thought it was BS, I mean, I maybe American but damn it our media thinks we're stupid(please avoid Fox News). I usually would watch PBS which is much more fair, because most of our news shows these days is more about entertainment than news. I do agree with you Zear, the US military has the attitude of 'well kick everyone's ass easily', well so far the US hasn't fought an organized army for awhile that can match them in a fair fight, real pilots would fight close in and personal, pilots who just sit there and shoot down someone 50 miles away is a coward.
I know, that episode was pure bullshit, really. Although the other episodes were cool, like the ones on the Japanese Zeros, the Korean war and the Israeli conflict. Excluding that one episode, that show is awesome!
I will b e avoiding Fox News, I know very well how horrible it is. And to provide evidence, here is an segment from Australian satirical comedy show The Chaser's War on Everything
here, they stab at Fox News, and it's hillarious!

Initially his plane's an F-18G "Hyper Hornet", which is like the Super Hornet, but an even more advanced variant with thrust vectoring, auto-launching counter-missiles, more powerful engines, a lighter, composite airframe and whole bunch of other improvements. It's optimised for dogfighting, because in this universe, the invention of "counter-missiles" made BVR kills impossible and stealth is meaningless thanks to smarter radars that instead detect for things like the stealth plane's own radar transmission or other systems.
He later flies a Eurofighter "Super Typhoon", a similarly upgraded variant of the Typhoon on his missions in Europe, still operating under RMAF decals, and in the Middle East flies an IAI Epstein, a highly advanced Israeli-built jet under IAF decals.
More or less the elite squadron he joins are assigned around the world to various allied air forces to aid them
