There are a lot of things like that I guess... the only other one I've heard often is that if you're gay, you'll like buttsex and should try it even if you don't like it because you wont' know unless you give it a shot. At least it's exactly the same thing people say about drinking, or when you turn 16, driving.
Yeah, I kind of hate society for being that way. My brother is the type who likes to go out and drink with friends. When my friend turned 18, my brother took him to a strip club. When I turned 18, he tried to make me go. When I turned 21, he tried to make me go to the bar where he DJed and get me drunk. I've only had one sip of alcohol in my entire life and I thought it was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. I don't drink and I never plan on doing so. I'm so 'boring'. D8
Haha, we can relate then. :D At least you're not like the kind of person that would drink just to fit in and fall to pressure, I have too many friends like that. Being yourself when it means being different might not be exciting or make anyone else happy, but I'm glad for it. (:

Ahh yeah I actually just started drinking again last week after not doing it for ages, it can get pretty blech when people always insist that drinking is the best thing. I mean it's certainly not good for you, so if you don't have a big desire to do it, I'd think that was good on you. :/

Awww! XD I can relate. I turn 21 this October and everyone I know (irl) is already talking about how they're going to 'get me so shit faced'. I can't stand the taste of alcohol, either. Makes me gag. This comic is short and still message has everything needed to get the message and feeling accross. I loves it.

If I may share, my 21st was very interesting in that I thought it would be fun to go with my dad and a few friends to the local bar and get somthing to eat and a simple drink. Oddly enough, despite us all being 21, I was the only one to drink and my poor friends were deeply nervous and uncomfortable there. So, in my case, I performed an opposite of the traditional 21 peer pressure thing.
Honestly, the whole drinking thing is a huge waste of money unless you are...
1: Looking to get buzzed and/or tanked
2: Seeking variety in beverage
If not looking for the above two, you get a much better bang for your buck out of drinking soda or other products. Heck, if people really want to have fun, you can always get Sparkling Grape Juice. It comes in what looks like a wine bottle, but tastes like fizzy / tangy grape juice. Oopa!

Wow I feel kind of old by comparison, even though I'm only two years older than you. My brothers have been trying to get me to drink beer since FOREVER ago. They mostly did it because they thought it was funny that I abhorred alcohol so much. But since then I've had a drink or two, so the taboo is really over for them.
If you really just don't like the taste of beer, wine coolers are really tasty, and you could probably have one or two and still not get drunk, because most of them are so weak. But if it's a matter of principle you could abstain anyways. If you don't make a big deal out of it, and let people know when your making celebration plans that you don't want to have any beer, it should be fine. o3o
But then again your good lookin' so some people will probably WANT to get you drunk, because they want to sleep with you.

I dunno, I think they can see through even that. My current plan is to act generally crazy all the time, so that they would come to the conclusion me high and/or drunk would be too much for them to handle (I think it's working, since they're backing off right now. Hard to say though >_>).

It's not like i think ciders is tasty either, but i wan't to drink some during the pre-parties to become even more easy-goin', funny and social xD . But i just can't help i feel a little embarressement about it when almost 100% of the other guys drinks beer, lol

Ahh, I would say I'm going to face the same thing at the end of this year, but I hung around a lot of older people most of my life, so its not like drinking is new to me. *shrugs*
I think I'm going to get moderately buzzed so that I can finally get my first tattoo for my 21st instead.
I've gone so long without getting one somehow! D:

Personally, I reccomend Peach Snaups, they're really good and mix well with hard alcohol to make the taste better.
Its also pretty weak, so it'd be good to have snaups for your first time.
They come in a lot of flavors too in case you don't like peach. Like green apple, grape, peppermint, etc.
But this is all just me enjoying the thought of corrupting you. xD

lol i got to celebrate mine late but damn was it a fun one. got to get myself drunk on high quality whiskey and japanese sapporo beer...hic al in last vegas aswell woooot. but yeah 21 isn't all bad aslong as you make the decision to drink or not to drink and make it obvious you don't want to. me i was raised on the liquid indulgence since 13 given i was very cautious around it except for one tiem i drank enough Yukka Juice (lemonade spiked with rum) that i acted and danced like a idiot and everyone recorded it >.=.<'''' my uncle still has the tape and plans to black mail me with it. the cad.
