The Kl'erin were a later designed species, cousins to Dirtirans race the “Leaan.”
They were a small creature, carrying the heavy characteristics of a fox, lemur and avian decent. The males bore small stubby horns while the females had none.
The first of their race were like the leaan a merge of synthetic and robotic material along with the living flesh of other creatures. But unlike the sterile leaan these were able to breed, and soon a whole new organic race was born.
The human population who’s settlements touched the boundaries of the un-natural inhabitants of the creator Mou’s deranged mind, found these creatures like the Small and playful Qwhilla more endearing than harmful, and it was common for young organic kit Kl’erins to be kept as exotic household pets.
Others studied the nature of these creatures, and their acceptance into the natural world as they bred and shed off their non organic past. Baby wild kits were often caught and banded with bright identifying tags on their feet like birds. A simple and effective way to keep track of the creatures in the area.
Kl’erin are physically able to fly well, a prominent keel hidden under a luxurious mane of fur around their chest and shoulders. A thick crest of feathers mingled with hackles adorned their head, along with large tapered ears, which were crowned at the tips by long tufts of fur. A long tapered muzzle was tipped with a dainty canid nose, surrounded by many sensitive whiskers. Although they bore large eyes, like the Qwhilla they were near blind, relying more on their keen sense of smell, hearing and touch to hunt for small insects, and fish. Their fur was thick but water resistant for the main part, and their lifestyle was semi aquatic, while they roosted in the tree’s at night time, using their long monkey like tails to balance and get around in the treetops.
