Ammolite was sterlized, not that she wasn't manipulative and crazy before but it made her markedly worse. Empathy means /more/ on alvarni than it does in the base sense of the word here. You're basically an emotional psychic. And there are people who use it properly, re: Silver. And people who don't. Re: Ammolite.

My mother pretended to be empathic toward animals, and perhaps to an extent that was true. But toward other people, especially myself and my father.... well... Lets just say my Mother was one of the people I used to draw inspiration off of for this... /creature/ of a character.
