Cartoon characters are a lot of fun to build. After finishing my own AV, someone suggested that I build Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog games. This project was also my first attempt at making my own textures, including blinking eyes. If you're an AV builder, you probably understand that making an eye-blink texure is about as fun as doing your taxes with a hangover and a screaming kid smacking your head with a Speak & Spell. While I don't *really* know what that scenario is like, making blink textures can't be much better. One last thing to mention is that almost a year later, when SL allowed for rotating attachments, I added spinning tails during flight. Many thanks to Buwaya for making the flight pose override for me!

My SL name is Mustel Ferdinand. right now, I only have ferret AVs for sale at my vendor. Its called WeaselWorks, and until I make further arrangements, its located only at Taco and The Wild. Oh well. S'what I get for not majoring in marketing. ;)

Hello, Mustel dear.
Just a word of warning: several people have had avatars based on famous characters, and there have been times when such has mysteriously disappeared from folks' inventories never to be seen again. It is of the belief that the Lindens remove it, terrified that some major company will fal upon them in a fit of anger over trademark/copyright violation. It happened to some look-alike Gundam avs, at least one Evangelion av, and from what I understand several un-named furry-based avs.
As for appearance, the design looks fantastic! Well done, dear heart.
Yours,
Mika Kyubi

To mikakyubi and all others who may worry,
Thank you for your kind words and your concern. ^.^ No need to worry however, as I am very careful when it comes to Second Life and their copyright rules. As I understand it, the Lindens don't like people making money from something that has a copyright, which just makes sense. They should cover their asses.
I have a strict personal rule that I follow, which is never to make money from any character that I draw/build that does not belong to either me or the person I'm making it for. Not only is it illegal, I just have too much respect for the original artists.
You may see other people selling their versions of copyrighted characters on vendors, and that is their risk to take. When I make an AV like Tails, it will never go up for sale. However, I have been known to give such AVs away for free to folks I know and trust.
Over the past couple of years, I've made about half a dozen AVs based on famous characters(sometimes for myself, sometimes by request) but it is all done for the purpose of putting smiles on faces and respectfully tipping my hat to the talented ones who drew them into existence.
