Originally a normal coyote from the deserts of Earth, Test Subject 54-M was genetically and cybernetically enhanced by scientists in Area 51 along with other animals to fly “unmanned drones” during the Gulf War. The animals were treated cruelly, except by one woman named Mercy, who took pity on them and soothed them with song. Before they could be deployed, an explosion rocked the facility, killing Mercy and forcing the animals to flee in an experimental starship that rocketed them into space. Now, Subject 54-M (nicknamed “Sam”) roams the galaxy as a smuggler, constantly listening to his music, telling you the distinct difference between smuggler and pirate, and shooting anyone who calls him “fox.”
