I've tried this, the photos were always too terrible..one needs a really expensive camera to get a better shot of the moon when it is out.

Actually you can get a digicam to focus through binoculars, or telescopes, I took this shot with a Kodak Easy Share http://www.furaffinity.net/view/635129/ : )

very nice. so all you did was stick the lens up to the lens? cause i didn't think that would work

That's all I did, it auto focused right through it like an eye would. I was surprised cuse I didn't even have a tripod I just kinda held it up and tried it, it looked blurry on the preview display but in the computer I was shocked to see impact craters and so on.
