Ooh, food and shelter and a friendly host. I'd say the two of them have struck it lucky this time! However simple the dish might be, I'd imagine that fresh food, and perhaps most importantly things like fresh eggs or vegetables, would be worth their weight in gold!
I find myself very intrigued by the trinkets on the shelf in the second panel. Especially the whatever-it-is in the jar. I have a feeling that's going to come into the plot somehow...

I'd imagine after the war such things are significantly harder to come by! No doubt they're used to sleeping out in the middle of nowhere with only each other for warm, maybe a blanket if they're lucky, and something they managed to catch, but something like this has got to be a treat. :)
