Words of pixeling wisdom: You never want to save pixel art in JPEG format.
JPEGs distort the true colors every single time you save, and you can't get transparencies with them. You'll want to save pixel art as a GIF or a PNG, so that the colors stay true, and you don't get that fuzzy artifact shit around the edges of each color.
