Big Red: Cultural Imperialism
Decadent imperialist vixen corrupts brave proletariat squirrel.
I think most people here are probably familiar with North Korea's favourite cartoon propaganda, "Squirrel and Hedgehog". This was inspired by the discovery that one of the "bad guys" who are supposed to be Americans is a Lt. Vixen who is well, a vixen. Now, while I salute the brave canids fighting the dark forces of totalitarianism, Red was of he opinion that vixenry is best handled by the private sector.
The art style is inspired by Milton Caniff's "Male Call" strips

ahhhh, Squirrel and Hedgehog. only kid show with violence, death, murder, waterboarding, suicide, and implement ever made. While it's pure propaganda, I couldn't help but watch this show when I found it. I also feel really bad for the North Korean kids who are being brainwashed by this show that is promoting them to actually sacrifice themselves for North Korea.
True, but this show helped shed some light on this north Korean cartoon to me.

Tom and Jerry had a lot going with it it's violance, but Squirrel and Hedghog is far from the violent antics of Tom and Jerry.

Herman and Katnip was about the same (I went back and checked), but Baby Huey was nightmarish what gone done to that fox by that giant retarded baby. The Famous Studio's Cartoons had the smae casual sadism that the later Popeye cartoons had, because it was the same studio, it's just paramount contracted them out to Harveytoons after 1951 (until 1967).
Always love those two episodes so far that have Lt. Vixen as a prominent character. It's funny how she's the most sexy character of the series. She makes us want to shout "TEAM AMERICA, F@$# YEAH!" with her beautiful image, despite being written as evil. Moral of the story, North Korea: if you want to make war propaganda cartoons for kids, don't make the bad guys better looking than the heroes. :P Your artwork here is a great comedic twist on the hero Geumsaegi in resisting the sexy American vixen's seductive charms. How could you say no to a beautiful vixen in a slinky evening gown, too? Wouldn't mind coming over for pizza, but more to just share a romantic dance with her. :)
It's propaganda, okay. But is propaganda the bad thing?
I mean, it's used in media worldwide, cartoons not being the exception. Then again, is it bad to tell audience "if enemy comes to conquer and pillage your country, be ready to protect it"?
For example, both Red Dawn movies were stupid af (especially the newer one, with Best Korea somehow occupying USA), and they are prime examples of propaganda, but it's movies about youth defending their homeland.

It's not what we can do that's the main attraction, it's what we WON'T do.
For instance, we won't send you to a death camp for accidentally dropping a picture of the president...
...we won't torture you for not showing up at a national parade....
...and we certainly won't execute you with an AA cannon if you fall asleep at a meeting with a superior.
