This was my first paid commission of my pony fursona, Akina. She formally went by the name "Nubia". While my sona was created out of my love for MLP, WWS generally does more realistic horses. Since changing her name, Akina has gone through some character changes as well. Her name actually means "warrior", or "brave one" In Yoruba, which is an etnic group found in Nigeria. Since I am half Nigerian, I wanted her to reflect that part of me. While my original crochet pony had braids, I thought dreads would look cooler on her and the golden clips are often found on black hair. The flower was just a nice touch by WWS.
