I've been so caught up in job hunting, advocating, and all that other stuff that I totally forgot about my 9th FA Anniversary that was on September 3rd!
I miss being able to efficiently being able to share all the great work others have done for me since my "Star Day" as I used to do. However I do want everyone to know that, even without physical sight, I enjoy all you have to share with me. You have all been beyond kind in describing your images while sharing your stories. I certainly don't feel left out with how you all have made sure to keep me a part of the fun even without my eyes.
Snowdrop learned such an important lesson in how not needing eyes to find your place in the world. You have all never seen me as anything aside from a friend as I descended further into total blindness. Even going blind hasn't kept me from posting, commenting, and developing great stories with everyone. There really is no community like FA and I'm elated to be an active part of it.
Before there was BronyCon there was FA. Before there was FA there was
Tacki,
Zee-Zee,
Kaffre,
mjbear,
Showtime Yoshi,
TaviMunk, and
Nishi. All who guided me here with friendly hands, paws, and claws to know I could be accepted, empowered, and feel like a genuine part of a community. It is my deepest hope to give to others what those I initially met gave to me. This being the feeling of belonging when you otherwise felt none. To provide a safe haven where your feelings are respected and where you can gain that self-esteem you felt may not exist in the world around you prior to FA.
Thanks to all who have been a super-duper part of my nine years here on this site. FA has been a massively positive constant in my life. I'm big into ponies and what I could achieve with BronyCon. However that all would never have happened without FA. I'm proud to be a furry and even more proud to know you all as my pals. *Snugs*

*Blush* I can't believe I had forgotten about such a special day. The anniversary marks the day I first started to explore myself for all I was instead of what was expected of me. Moreover it was when I learned I wasn't a totally awful person as my previous employer in 2008 had made me out to be.
I never want to forget how I came here, met you, and started my journey to gaining self-esteem while rekindling my love for writing and the arts. So many things I had felt lost were found again shortly after losing employment while coping with my sight taking a nose dive for the worse just a year before.
Yep! *Snugs* So much to be grateful for thanks to FA and good pals.

*Hugs* Thanks, saphy. I can't believe I had forgotten such a special day but I'm glad I remind myself as it was a major turning point for the better in my life. For starters I would never have met you if I was not here. *Hugs again* I know I would not be the same person, nor quacker, without your friendship.
*Crinklesnugs* And I plan to keep it that way, too. *Giggles as he nuzzles against your fur*
I can never express how much my life went towards the better simply because I saw Tavi's link to FA on his DA page. I was so scared in 2007 but did peep in as I could. Then I joined to an unbelievable warm greeting from so many furries and scalies on here. I found confidence and the ability to not see myself as a terrible person for liking diapers and diapered cartoon characters. Moreover is I had almost totally given up being a writer until I was encouraged to not only write but continue to try and do art until the very time I could do so no more.
Thanks for being a part of my adventures, Ozzie. *Crinklesnugs* You are truly a wonderful person to whom I'm glad I met after coming here.

As you are, too, Ozzie. We each know we are here for each other to talk and knowing that makes me so happy. It's these sorts of friendship bonds that make me glad to be a fellow crinkle-butt alongside you, Tavi, and all our adorable pals. Knowing we can be in happier and safer places as our special selves as we journey through our lives is truly a magnificent thing. We are never alone. *Crinklesnugs*
*Crinklesnugs and reaches for your tail to wrap up in as a blankie* It would never have been possible to do all I've done without your presence here, Zoomer. You truly never know how much of an impact you make on the lives of others until those you do reflect, as I do, on how I'd be curled up in a ball feeling worthless without your support to help me pull up my shorts and toddle on.
Thanks, Zee-Zee. My hope is to always be able to pay the favor you paid me as forward as possible. To follow as best as possible in your clever foot steps. :)

Certainly one of the biggest things would be having met you on here.
Plus, this site has just taught me quite a lot about how to interact with people in the world. As this was kind of one of my very first big ventures into the internet. My life would certainly be incredibly different had I not joined here. I think it could very well have been in a much worse place if I had never started talking to people online.

I'm really happy to know you, too, Cosmo. It gives me a lot of happiness to hear how our interactions, along with those of others, have helped you to grow so much.
Do you think being here has also given you more joy and interest in putting together your models and other creative projects? I have personally found the boundless creativity of everyone around here to be very inspiring.

I think the joy for models and stuff really came from other places. But that certainly also has a big thanks to the internet. Though I've been very slow with getting back to models these past few months.
I've been starting a drawing class in the college and I hope it will get me into other kinds of creative art making as well.

How do you feel your artistic tests are going so far? What sort of art are you submitting for all our friends to view and critique?
Do you think you may make your major in college "Computer Information Systems" or something else related in development? You could find a pretty good career in IT / Help Desk etc. Get some additional skills in graphic design and web and software design while you're at it, too.

I've been doing kind of abstract nature and architecture. But that might be over explaining it. I've really only submitted two pieces and neither were entirely finished, at that. Really I'm going to be doing lots of different things.
And I still really don't know about majors and all that stuff. Not yet. But really anything is possible at the moment.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Have you gotten to work with charcoal or any other fun painting / drawing materials? Are they helping you learn how to use any sort of digital drawing tool, like Photo Shop?
There is plenty of time to pick a major. I'm sure it is just nice to see yourself getting acclimated to college life and course work. Have you noticed a difference between what you're doing now and what you did in High School?
I have an appointment tomorrow that is out-of-town. I'll be back on Thursday evening. (The biggest reason I'm responding to your comments with discussion as opposed to starting a letter is that it is currently easier given I've been flooded with things to do in regard to Guide Dog and acquiring gainful employment. I just got an e-mail today that has me set up for another interview next Thursday. So I'm booked all next week. Kazootles!)

Nope, it's just traditional arts. I have gotten to used charcoals, though. We haven't had any kind of lesson or anything with them yet, though. I just got to use them since I picked them up as part of my required supplies.
It is quite different, I'm glad that it's been starting off slow. Really, one of the things I'm most thankful for is that I only have a few classes and I that I have days without them to catch up. Though I do find ways to still distract myself, a lot.
Oh, I hope all goes well with all the interview and Guide Dog stuff. I understand how that goes with being over-scheduled. Talk to you again, whenever it's most convenient for you.

How are you liking your professors this semester? Do you have any that you may hope to have again? Has the transition over been going well with things not getting too stressful?
How are you feeling with the Halloween season soon upon us? Are there any movies you are hoping to see at the theater, or watch with your family or friends?
I heard a new Halloween movie is supposed to be coming out. Apparently it takes place after "Halloween 2" and doesn't appear to have the miserable conclusion that "Halloween: Resurrection" gave us.
Almost down to 2 weeks left until MLP: The Movie! Will you be going with anyone? Do you think you'll see it in the theater?

Yes, all my professors seem pretty great.
I really hope the Halloween season doesn't go by too fast this time. I had a dream where it was already over again.
And yes, I heard a little about how they're doing another Halloween movie. So are they doing it in a continuity that's sort of like the original series' and ignores the remakes. I know that that's basically what Texas Chainsaw Massacre has done. I never saw every movie in either of those series though. I only saw the first four Halloweens in the original series so I don't know Resurrection. But looking it up it appears that he comes to life again at the end.
I also guess I should see the new It movie. Since it's apparently good. I just find it kind of weird because it doesn't seem like it'll be a whole lot or any different from the two part Tim Curry TV movie from 1990. I guess it's supposed to be much more faithful to the book, though it's not like the first movie was incredibly far off from the original book. It is still interesting though that Pennywise returns every 27 years and we got a remake exactly 27 years later. I also guess this movie is gonna be in two parts, just like the TV movie. Except this means we'll be waiting much longer for part 2.
And yes, I should see the MLP movie when it comes out. I'm sure I haven't been thinking about that nearly as much as you have though.
Actually, a big thing I've been thinking of as of late is the apparent official death of the Half-Life series. It's weird because those games were a big part of my early childhood and then there was just a long silence. Still, it has made my go revisit all the games again. So there's that. Also seems rather fitting that I revisit something from my childhood as I enter adulthood.

It's eye opening to visit things from your childhood as an adult. You pick up on things you never even considered as a kid while having the time to think on what may have inspired the content you are revisiting.
The remake of "IT" is set to be in two parts? Golly! I don't know any other Stephen King books that had mutli-movie requirements. Then again Hollywood has had a thing for making multi-movie films for single books. On a plus it allows to cover more ground but, in the case of "The Hobbit", you see how they force new material that has no relevance.
I've had those dreams, too. Mostly of BronyCon and messing up as a presenter or having visual issues doing anything while at it. I had a few dreams recently of playing video games with sight again as of late. Fortunately I wake up and reality doesn't hurt as much as it used to.
I can't help but look forward to the MLP Movie. I got to read the two novels about it, one was a prequel, and it really sounds like they did a good job. Only downside is that it ignores Starlight Glimmer. This makes me wonder when in the timeline the film is to take place. Fortunately Spike is in it.

It also occurs to me that in the original book "It" Pennywise took the forms of a couple of the classic Universal Monsters, the shark from Jaws, and the werewolf from I Was a Teenage Werewolf. The TV movie couldn't get the rights the the former stuff but they did get the rights to I Was a Teenage Werewofl, plus they used a more generic looking mummy. But apparently in this new theatrical one they've cut all the classic horror movie characters. Apparently he appears in more generic frightening forms. I also just read that apparently the second part of the theatrical version will be in 2019.
Considering that this new one has the childhood part take place in the 80's and not the 50's and that this new one was partly made by New Line Cinema it should have made perfect sense for him to take the form of Freddy Krueger. But I guess that would distract from the point. The point is that he appears as things that people are afraid of but having him as Freddy would probably just make more people expect a crossover or something. It would probably kill the mood, so I suppose it's a good thing they didn't do that but at the same time I think that could have been interesting.
I've actually still never read the book. I've only read a synopsis because I've seen my parents' copy of the book and GEEZ it is gigantic. No wonder the movies have to be in two parts.
I do hope Spike has a large role in it. I agree with you in just how great he is. I also wonder about Thorax but if Starlight isn't in it then he probably won't be either.

My wife is a big Steven King fan and I really need to ask her about "IT". All I thought it was about was a scary clown that showed up to terrorize people. Hearing there is more to it definitely has my interest heightened.
That does make sense how scary characters, or references to scary characters, from a particular time period should manifest to frighten those in "IT". The Universal Monsters, I believe from all you've shared, were definitely all quite relevant in the 50s. The 80s had Jason, Michael Myers, Alien, Predator, etc. So having space aliens, trolls, and other frightening versions of mythical creatures makes a lot of sense. Though you are right in how they could distract from the film by getting people hopeful for meetings of monsters and aliens that were, if I venture a guess, were never Steven King's intentions with the original "IT".
Something that always has me hopeful is how movies often are based on books. Perhaps, one day, my work will be noticed enough to be made into a movie? I'd love if someone took my "Further Realms" series and made it into a film, or mini series. Even if they made all the furry creatures human I'd be okay. I'm quite proud of the series.
After hearing more promos for the MLP Movie I am thinking it is meant to take place between Season 3 and 4. Thorax and Starlight are not in it, unless they kept them out of every promo and all the books. I also think Lauren Faust was a part in writing it. So this movie could have been how she would've ended the series at its intended point at the end of Season 3?

Yes, Pennywise is really just the clown form that IT most commonly appears as. IT is really sort of a god or spirit. IT is the embodiment of fear itself. And every 27 years IT comes out from the sewers where it lives and kills the children of this one specific town.
I've actually also thought of some writing with furries being adapted into live action. It's sort of like, to some extent, it doesn't matter what the characters are, just who they are.
That would make a lot of sense for the MLP movie, being between season 3 and 4. I know it was originally supposed to end by 3. I will say that it could also probably be a bit confusing for a lot of people, though. Especially kids. Because most people are just usually prepared to except that things all come out in chronological order. Like I've known very few people who realize that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, because they don't pay any attention to the dates. And also I notice that lots of other movies or video games for TV shows will have some specific placement in the continuity.
Anyways, how have things been going, otherwise? I know you've had a lot of busy things come up.

Oh, wow! I genuinely did not know Raiders came after Temple of Doom. I do believe "Indiana Jones" was a series of books but I never looked into it. Perhaps it is something I should do to see what adventures go where and if I may find any on my book services to read.
The tale of Pennywise is quite interesting. Coming back every 27 years makes sense as it guarantees a new generation of children would be in the town. Maybe I can find "IT" as an Audio Book to read as time allows?
Have you gotten to visit a Spirit store yet? Any ideas for a fun costume, or addition to your sets, you may be looking for and/or found?
I am super overdue to write a journal about all that has happened this week. I'll have to try and make it as short as possible given all that has transpired and will still transpire. Friday is my actual 'slow day'.
The simplest way to say things now is I've been building some connections towards gainful employment while getting a minor procedure done while I had the chance. I'm feeling a bit owie after having said procedure today but I should be all good by Monday.

Well, Indiana Jones did have a large series of books but the movies predate them. Just like with Star Wars. I know that since Disney started making Star Wars films all the Expanded Universe books have been rendered non-canon. And similarly Disney is in the works of making a fifth Indiana Jones film so I have no idea where the Indiana Jones books fit canon-wise either.
The main reason I mentioned Pennywise coming back every 27 years in the story is that it's quite interesting that the TV movie was in 1990 and this new movie is in 2017. So the movie adaptations apparently also appear every 27 years. Stephen King is certainly a great writer in the way he just knows how to have people talk so realistically. And similarly how he so commonly mentions real life things in order to make the story feel so much more familiar and close to the reader.
Actually a big thing that happened some weeks ago that I'd been meaning to tell you about was that I got to visit the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem which currently has a temporary attraction of Kirk Hammet (of Metallicas)'s collection of classic horror movie memorabilia. It's actually amazing and certainly museum worthy. It is primarily original posters. Some of them actually worth millions of dollars. There were some original movie props too. Surely the highlight of the whole exhibit was the face cast of Lon Chaney Junior that had the Wolf Man make-up applied to it as a test from 1948's Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein. I'd seen pictures of it before but only now had seen it in person. And what's even more amazing is that the exhibit actually allowed and encouraged people to take pictures so I got a picture of me next to it. It feels like it's the closest thing there is to actually standing next to the Wolf Man, today. They also had an original mask from Revenge of the Creature, which was somehow much more beat than the Wolf Man. Then there was also an original gigantic standee of King Kong. The only surviving one, I believe. And so many other one of a kind posters. They also had three paintings by Basil Gogos which is quite weird that, in fact, since the time I went to the exhibit and me telling you this now Basil Gogos actually died. But you know, he was pretty old and all. But basically he was famous for painting monsters and then those paintings would be used for magazines, usually Famous Monsters of Filmland. Then the exhibit also had lots of other rare 60's merchandise. Obviously not even close to a fragment as rare as the props and posters though. They actually had the old Creature from the Black Lagoon aquarium bubble figure inside an actual fish tank just to demonstrate it. And more cool stuff that I can't even mention for it would take too long.
But anyways, I'd been wanting to tell you about that for a while. And yes, I have gone to a Spirit store once so far this year. It was the same one I worked at last year. They actually recognized me and the manager was hoping I was coming back to work there this year. But with college and everything I didn't think it would be a good idea. So maybe I'll work at there again in 2018. But anyways, what was neat is how they always have a big display at the stores that has a different them each year. Last year it was a haunted hotel theme with the cardboard displays designed like elevators but this year it was a spaceship kind of theme. And no, I don't have any big costume plans yet. But I should probably get on that by now. I have actually kind of had a long pause from model making the King Kong go-kart model has been sitting on my shelf uncompleted for months now. I guess I've just been taking a bit of a break from it. I think a primary cause would be working on the game and all. Though I haven't gotten to work on the game that much either since I started college classes. But everything is good and I intend to get back to all of these things in good time. More sooner I'll be working on the game than the models, though.
But anyways, I hope you have the best of luck, as always, in your exploits for employment. Wish I could say more but I don't know all the specific details. But know that I care. And the same with healing up.

And the same with healing up.

awww. *Snugs warmly* You make me blush for how honored I am to be thought of so highly. Truly you make being an FA'er a true delight. Your tales of adventures outside make me so happy. You not only have a cute fursona but also genuinely help the delightful critters who make our world so special.
Do you remember the first episode of Pony that drew you in? I can still remember when I had no idea who The Cutie mark Crusaders were.
Any plans to see the movie on October 6th?

It seems like some theaters are already giving out showtimes and opportunities to buy tickets. Perhaps one of your local theaters has a web site you can look into?
*Nods* I was hooked with Episode 1, too. I refused to watch the show initially due to how bothered I was with not-so-good Transformers reboots. (It's mind boggling how many times Transformers has been rebooted) Eventually my friend,
azuredragon, made a DVD of the first 4 episodes and, well, the rest is history.
I loved G1. I'll still not forget the fellow who saw my Baby Rainfeather in my backpack at BronyCon and was aghast it was a G1. G1 may not have had the plots we came to admire in FiM but, like most 80s cartoons, they had a lot of really creative ideas that worked perfectly with the young mind to get the creative juices going for drawing, writing, and playing with those toys they were selling.

You'll have to let me know what you find out if any of your theaters will make it easy for you to check out the movie.
Do you think anyone will be going with you to see it? Perhaps there is a Brony Group having a gathering nearby?
I'll hopefully be going with my son and his friend. :)
Have you been enjoying Season 7?

Can you pick a favorite episode from Season 7? I'm really fond of "Forever Filly" and "Parental Glidance" for how they give some depth on what it is to grow up along with how different parenting styles work. I also liked "A Royal Problem" for how it illustrated the difference between Twilight and Starlight's approach on achieving goals. :)
"To Change A Changeling" was certainly a well done episode. Poor Starlight was in a situation I know I've found myself in. This feeling you can't do anything for someone you wish you could help. She really got nailed by Thorax for wanting to cast away his brother but, honestly, Starlight was just not the pony for the job. Trixie wasn't either. (This makes me wonder if The Cutie Map didn't get involved and send Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. I feel this combo would've best helped resolve the issue. Then again we wouldn't have had that epic conflict that only Trixie and Starlight could create.)
Campfire Tales really helped evolve the mythology / history of Equestria. It's nice when we get times to learn about more than the current time along with how everything else seems to be 1,000 years ago. (This also makes for a funny note as we get 'years' said a lot for references to things like Nightmare Moon, The Crystal Empire & Sombra, etc. However all other times are mentioned in the form of 'Moons') :)
I wish I had descriptive audio for "It's Not The mane Thing About You". The message was able to be figured out through the dialogue but I'd have loved to know how different Rarity looked compared to her usual self. *Shrugs*
"Daring Done" really showed how A.K. is as much out there as The Mane 6. They just work different territories. I wonder if A.K. and our primary cast will ever gather to take on a big threat?
Sorry. I didn't mean to quack on episodes. It's just fun to think on them. :)
