up above the path heading to the entrance of camp there's a grassy plateau that the apprentices love to train on. because of this, apprentices are usually the first to spot returning patrols, and it seems like these two are excited to see whoever's on that patrol

or maybe the patrol just brought home something especially tasty for lunch

this is carppaw (ginger tom) and mistlepaw (silver tom), a dusk apprentice and sun apprentice respectively. carppaw is also one of widowbite's two sons, with the other being a similarly ginger tom named daisypaw.
