Emerald and her partner, Turquoise, are two higher-ranking gems who serve Blue Diamond, dispatched to Earth millennia ago to find evidence of what happened to Pink Diamond, and to monitor several important Gem installations in Africa. Their search for answers has been... Well, it's been very slow for a multitude of reasons. Emerald is a peerless but highly cultured warrior who was mistaken as a goddess by the ancient Egyptians, who then based what would become their polytheistic religion around her. And yet, she has a bored, almost completely detached outlook; Emerald finds joy and pleasure in fighting an opponent that can actually challenge her, which has become rarer and rarer with the passing centuries. She also comes off as snobby and is obsessed with her appearance. Her weapon of choice is a khopesh with a translucent green blade, which can cut through most known substances on Earth.
