It’s really hard to believe that Pokemon came out in the states 19 years ago this month, and I have been happily, faithfully playing the series ever since. I wanted to recapture that magical moment when I picked my very first pocket monster, a plucky Charmander I named Chester.

Aww, cute! ^_^ I skipped school this day with 2 of my buddies and we had to go to 3 different stores to get my one friend a copy of Blue! (everywhere else only had Red) Then we sat in the Best Buy parking lot in my car while it rained and played for hours. :] One of my favorite days.
19 years ago! Blimey now I'm feeling my age.
I remember getting Pokemon red back in the day. Was obsessed with playing it. Although I still class Pokemon gold/silver as the greatest game ever!
I picked bulbasaur as my starter as it could beat a lot of gym battles. But I did fall in love with my growlithe when I captured one. Although still agree Charmander is still by far the most coolest Pokemon ever!
Which gym leaders did you enjoy and have trouble beating? My fave gym was Lt.Surge and had great difficulty defeating Sabrina.

Whoa whoa whoa! I never said it was the coolest pokemon ever! There are far too many pokemon in my mind who all share that title! It was Misty actually. I had to level up an Oddish and... a newly evolved Raticate if memory serves. By the time I got to Sabrina I stomped her with Chester the Charizard, and I remember Lance, the Dragon Master in the E4 giving me difficulty.
While I don't hold Pokémon as close to my heart anymore, I will admit I was as enamored as any other kid who first got their copy of Red or Blue. I had Red and Squirtle was my starter. As they say, you never forget your first cute little monster. : )
Nicely done on this. The cute levels are really up there. :3

-bangs head against desk- I feel dumb never placing this in my favorites yet. Been playing every gen myself ever since I was... 6 years old? The nostalgia factor's killing me now. |D Red Version is the only game where I've completed the entire Pokedex, and I still have the cartridge~
The closest I got to completing the dex after Red version was Pokemon White, but only had a mere couple left and never got around to finishing that up unfortunately.
Irregardless of that, seeing Red and Blue all grown up in Sun and Moon made happy thoughts fly about <3
