The party's eyes open and they see Athena. But not the Athena they once knew. That Athena is gone for good. And another has taken her place.
The wind swirls. An aura of frost surrounds her. Athena's eyes lock on the town and her dark facial expression doesn't change. The party tries to speak to her. Tries to approach her. Tries to get her attention, but Athena is utterly oblivious to the sounds. Her eyes are dark, her expression cold and unchanging. Finally, with a burst of powerful cold magic, Athena shoots off in the direction of the town like a missle, leaving a trail of ice and cold in her wake.

She has gone through some changes, to say the very least.
Upon witnessing a thriving city catch fire, memories of her own homeland lost in the same way play through her mind, triggering an emotional meltdown which causes mysterious draconic powers dormant inside of her to burst forth in an emotional explosion. And the party quickly realizes that everything had changed.
