So I've FINALLY got some more work done on my Nick bust! It was a hell of a lot of work to get him from the previous post's state to this one, I fully sanded him down first, on every piece before filling the bigger gaps using one of those 3D printing pens so the gaps got filled with the same material as the rest of the head, then I sanded him down AGAIN to smooth over those gaps. After that I spray painted a primer layer over the plastic that revealed exactly how many more little holes, gaps and print lines were still left in the model.

This was the point that I left him for a while, spending the time instead on building my fursuit as I had no idea how to fix him. Eventually I came up with the idea of using wood filler to fill the gaps in the model and after testing the process on a failed part got to work, which now allows me to use the sentence "I spent a day smearing white goo onto Nick Wilde's face" with total legitimacy! after adding the filler I sanded him down for a THIRD TIME (bear in mind that it takes about 3 days of work to fully sand this thing) then finally applied another layer of the primer paint.

I'm actually very happy with the result at this stage, he's not 'perfect' but he does look very smooth now and is in my opinion now ready for me to actually paint!
