I like both, although I'm a bit more partial to the design on the left. (boopable nose) :)
The trail left by the fiery red eye on the right is cool too. :)

Could be some sort of voodoo cursed character, who looks normal with that black/white coloration, but if he gets flustered, angry, or aggressive his face/body turns skeletal.
