The first step toward creating a t-shirt for this August's worldcon was the pencil sketch. It was necessarily rough to begin with, but through trial and error, darkening in lines as they fit, I built up composition and filled in details. The second player was an afterthought. I didn't know if it would work in until I had the first player done. In earlier incarnations, the "puck" was just a futuristic puck, or a satillite, and finally a globe of the Earth.
