It's like a funny old school cartoon, which those old years cartoons where very popular in black and white over the years before the animators added real color on them

It's always a good thing to look back and recall your sources of inspiration. Duplicating a comic strip panel by hand is indeed one sure way of doing so.

If I had a chance, I'd duplicate a comic strip panel from Calvin and Hobbes. Years ago, that was my favorite comic strip. Not so much for the sketchy style, but for the well-thought out characterization of Calvin and Hobbes themselves. No matter what Calvin believed Hobbes was always there to provide a rebuttal. An old play on the conflict of the id and ego, or the irrational and the rational.

Calvin and Hobbes is the kind of comic strip that makes Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang look like Caillou.
