Early Torix troops were kitted with plated armor designed to help lessen the vulnerability in their exoskeleton's weak spots, a jagged sword (or a pick-like weapon when fighting other Torix), a large shield designed to be used in various shieldwall formations, and a pair of daggers in their lower arms for use in close range brawls or if there isn't enough space to use their primary weapon.

With the passing of ages and changes in military technology and tactics (and the advent of new fearsome monsters and the extinction of other more familiar ones), Torix strategy was forced to change, and their Shieldsisters were relegated to bodyguard and ceremonial duties.
