I wrote a lullaby, something Eudoxia would have grown up hearing at the Windswept Plateau, that she later taught to Orestes. I think Ori might have a pleasant enough voice, but he just can't keep a tune to save his life. Still, Eudy will ask him to sing it to her from time to time. Ori will of course do it for her, thinking that she misses her home and singing the song will ease her homesickness. But in truth she just enjoys hearing him sing, no matter how bad it sounds. Just... not enough to tell him, in order not to encourage him to sing too often.
I tried to write it in a way that could mean dreams and sleeping. Or dying. Just depends on the context. I wrote it for a story called The End, so...
Anyways, I've never written songs, or any kind of poetry before so this is my absolute first attempt anything of the sort. I'm hoping it's not entirely bad. I also can't compose music so I paced the thing with the lullaby from the Prince of Egypt movie. So that's the tune it should kinda work with.
