The Griflareo is a rare species that has lived in both the Clockworld and in Sorion. The Griflareo is considered a genetic oddity born to certain Vaspa (felines). It is usually referred to as being a cross of Fasui (canids) and Vaspa, yet they are born to full-blooded feline parents. Their fur colour is usually mauve-purple with a soft cream fur across their abdomen and chest.
Since they are rare in Vaspa societies, they are treated with utmost respect and usually attract the most mates. Despite that, they are entirely infertile and unable to continue their strange genetic lineage. 1 in every 100 Vaspa are born as Griflareo, which has unfortunately aided in the decline of the Vaspa species. To some, the Griflareo are believed to be the purist of beings, considered the strongest of will, most enviable of lovers and they age gracefully. In society, they are trained to be the emissaries or representatives of Vaspa in other domains. Specifically, in one Vaspa clan, the Ghanra, only Griflareo are chosen as leaders due to their natural charisma and critical resolve. Some Griflareo however become arrogant or proud due to the stature and cultural prominence that are thrust upon them. It is not unheard of for many to have their hearts broken by their beauty. A common phrase is "Flareo Vengeance" which refers to the envious pain of being cast aside by a Griflareo.

This particular Griflareo is Goweyn, who became an Akurite (a wielder of an Arcana sphere) and helped develop the realm of Vozhna in centuries gone by.
