A little poem (six stanzas, 216 words) about my mate. I find it hard to describe my feelings sometimes, but he means a lot to me, and sometimes he's why I roll out of bed. So, to show how I feel, I wrote this about his effect upon me. Poem below.
Each day brings clouds upon the dawn,
My eyes open to drowning rain
The deluge of a bottle opened, for a second
A need to curl and hide, ignore the pain
But then the light that signs my life, my joy, my soul
Messages from night come in e-mail bottles
Whose messages and feelings pour and fill the bowl
That my life drinks from at the morn.
Each sentence, word, letter, more
That I look upon through sleep-blurred eyes
Puts the warmth of love into my core
To battle away the cold of unshared bed
But even so, despite how earnest I may be
As I make my replies in kind
I can only hope and trust in you to see
How my love will last ‘til my heart is beating tore.
And all throughout these days that tick
From dawn to dusk and back again
I hope you see the love, and how we can click
In place together, as puzzle pieces do
Fore the dusk of every day, you,
I think of-to chase away my fear and woe
Even in the worst of storms, with you, my skies turn blue
If made to choose, one single person: with whom to only go
Beyond today and share a life… You are the one I pick.
Each day brings clouds upon the dawn,
My eyes open to drowning rain
The deluge of a bottle opened, for a second
A need to curl and hide, ignore the pain
But then the light that signs my life, my joy, my soul
Messages from night come in e-mail bottles
Whose messages and feelings pour and fill the bowl
That my life drinks from at the morn.
Each sentence, word, letter, more
That I look upon through sleep-blurred eyes
Puts the warmth of love into my core
To battle away the cold of unshared bed
But even so, despite how earnest I may be
As I make my replies in kind
I can only hope and trust in you to see
How my love will last ‘til my heart is beating tore.
And all throughout these days that tick
From dawn to dusk and back again
I hope you see the love, and how we can click
In place together, as puzzle pieces do
Fore the dusk of every day, you,
I think of-to chase away my fear and woe
Even in the worst of storms, with you, my skies turn blue
If made to choose, one single person: with whom to only go
Beyond today and share a life… You are the one I pick.
