I_Love_Critique ilovecritiquei need serious help with this one. I love the idea of focusing on odd bits of mythological anatomy, such as this rather hefty centaur's "waist"—where his human and equine halves meet—but it seems to be...lacking something.
i scanned it big so you can see my brushstrokes, such as they are.

I'd say either add a more full mane, or DE-emphasize it, so there's little (horse)hair on the vertical back.
Or is it that the the fello has a bit of a belly (vertical) and big look is more bovine than equine, as equines tend to look rather thin and gangly in places... it's often a bit difficult to see how they stand up and run on those thin, by comparison, legs. Maybe an equine taur needs to be a bit more.. in shape.. for people to see it as such? Even though I'm sure there would be fatter centaurs as well as trim ones.
my model-ing abilities are severely lacking, i just can't seem to depict a three-dimensional object.
