It's been a few days, hasn't it? SO, let's play a little catch-up with a sammich of some content! Starting here with... PLEASURE! *smirks* And who doesn't fancy a tat of the fun now and then, eh?
Something which often strikes me as a touch odd is the notion of how two people or four or ten can all claim to enjoy the same thing, belong to the same group, club, religion *gesticulates, grasping words from the air* share in the same passions, if you will- however *thumps her cane* their reasons for doing so, vary as much as the size and scope of the stars in the sky. It's a notion I've kinda-sorta touched on in previous issues.

Though two people can both be so pleased by the same thing, in theory, at least, what they see that thing as... what it means to them, in their mind, in their heart... conceptually... can be so drastically different as to be almost unrecognizable. One person's idea of a thing may be absolutely appalling to someone else who claims to enjoy them exact same thing.
Just as two people may consider themselves... *pauses, tasting the words* both to be Bronies and both really enjoy their favourite little cartoon program in a friendly air of camaraderie. They both like the colorful characters, art style, stories... However, one may enjoy it for certain... specific... different reasons than the other, reasons which might find the fast friends at each other's throats very shortly.
Much as James Baxter and his dancing beach-ball antics would have an entirely different appeal to the noble and adventurous Finn and Jake than he would to two wonderful perverts such as Christina and I... *smirks* A wholly platonic and innocent appeal, of course...

Can totally relate to your bit up there about how people can belong to the same group but for different reasons.
I do a lot of fetish play stuff on F-list myself, but as much as it gets me off its also kinda my therapy. When I play a dominant type on there I tend to cater to people who share my submissive interests because it lets me give them what I had such a hard time getting in the days before the internet. A sort of way to soothe my memories of my own unhappy childhood as a gender confused queer kid growing up in the middle of bumfuck bible-thump Kentucky.
Its just a happy co-incidence that I get my jollies that way too. :D

But it is interesting you talk about that, especially since so many people end up running into that a LOT more than they'd probably care to admit. Too bad we can't just take the simple pleasure of just liking the same things even if it is for different reasons, but what can ya do right?
