Something I sketched as a concept for some silly comic I'd like to do. Decided to, quickly, color it too. Was thinking of using this style for certain parts of the comic. I think if a whole comic was done like this it would be a tad overwhelming. I've noticed that overly "artsy" comics tend to suffer from wonky pacing.
This was also verrrrry "Blade of the Immortal" inspired. (Thanks to my summer roommate for letting me read the first 20 TPB's.)
Done in ballpoint pen and Painter IX.

very cool. but you're right, a comic full of this might appear to be tiresome to many people. like those huge books with a thrashy, funky art style most readers won't touch, and might miss out a great story.
Lone Wolf& Cub comes to mind, where some pages inbetween were inkwash-shaded and suddenly the rest of the chapter is once again done in ink and crosshatching. an art style like the above might do for certain scenes, chapter covers, and such.
also, extra internet points for wicked swords. :)
