It just doesn't sit right with other Starfleet designs, even some of their more strange designs still followed some standard form. Even the Defiant design was such that someone could look at it and say "that's from Star Trek". The Discovery isn't the most terrible design, but it just doesn't fit with the rest of Trek.

I managed to track down a source of Klingon raktajino, which I spiked with something I found in Dr. Bashir's *other* medicine cabinet. Since then, I've been awake for 167 hours straight, and other than music now tasting purple, I appear to be just fi-hamina-hamina-hamina-ahOOOgah-ne. ;)

Gorgeous looking design, and far more accurate to the ship types that eventually lead to the later Constitution class. The odd design look of the Discovery doesn't sit well with the "Prime Friendly" lore they were trying to go for. Nor do Klingons that look nothing like Klingons. :P

My favorite ST (Fed) ship design is still the Prometheus. My two ST:O mains - a Tactical officer and an Engineer - flew them literally for years (the U.S.S. Agamemnon and the U.S.S. Matthew Shepard respectively, for the curious) until level creep and availability of the Hestia-class convinced me to upgrade.
