Welp, it's the final one for the month guys, it was alot of fun and work to do these little sticks. Let's get to this particular stick celebrating during the time of Rocky's 55th Birthday. :D
Rocky Patel 55 Robusto:
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Costa Rica
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
Fromt the look of this particular stick gave off a bright silver and red shine to draw me in. For a Nicaraguan wrapper, it seemed a bit darker than some I've encountered. Alot of cedary and earthy notes were present once I got it out of the seliphane wrapper. The wrapper itself was a bit rough, but smooth and firm to the touch. Slight good amount of oil was there to give it a good little shine. The red and silver band indicating the number 55 is broad but gives am indication that this is the day a great man turns 55. Gave it a very appearance for the cigar itself. Seems and veins are present but blend in real well for the overall look. Let's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
Rich cocoa and black pepper notes began this little stick and I was in love. The right balance imo. The draw was very good and the smoke was vibrant like a massive mist coming out. Bythe near end some earth cedar notes began to form up from the retro hale giving it more a natural tone.
The Burn Part 2:
Not much has changed at this point. Still well balanced and even burning as well.
The Burn Part 3:
The pepper notes do increase in body a bit, but not too harsh for comfort on the pallet. Not much changed after that until the last draw.
Verdict: Nice, sweet, peppery, and all around smooth as hell. Something to definitely have by the end of the day. Celebrate with a good drink with this little guy.
Next Month: La Gloria Cubana
See you then!
