Today we can get a moderately successful fellow to do CRISPR in their garage. Not to mention we can easily see conservation groups trying to protect species by either combining them or storing their dna and its likely hey lost of fashion people may add some stripes to the skin or who knows Not to mention GMO's make incredible new arrays of proteins that can be used for products . Then theres the issue with climate change and who knows if we're likely to go to other planets. Its likely such matters may develop furries due to ideas for business to exploit new products, fashion trends, conservation to maintain genes and promote diversity, and likely survival to help with adapting to new environment on this changing planet and colonization of others
