The thing that bugged me about Full Metal Alchemist were the incessant chibis (or whatever you call them). Every time they appeared (which was bloody often) they took me out of the moment/story completely. It's hard to get invested in the (often dark) storyline when the characters keep acting like they're in a Loony Toons cartoon (though rarely with the humour of such).
That aside, this is really splendid work.
