This was done in 2002, but it's still one of my faves and most popular pieces. Snake of the Chinese Zodiac, drawn for a long-forgotten calendar project. That's a Chinese Sharp-Nosed Viper, by the way. With arms.

Evvverybody likes the scales...well, I do too, but I think they may have put me off of drawing reptiles for a while... Anyway, thanks.

I believe I based it on the Chinese sharp-nosed viper, AKA the "hundred-pacer" (i.e., if it bites you, you'll only be able to take 100 steps before you die) >;)

Very nice! This is one of the first decent (more than decent, in this case) pictures of a naga/anthro snake. I love the scales, as everyone else has said, but I also love how bright and vibrant the colors. are. Nice contrast with the reds and oranges in the snake and background and the dark blue bottle.
