In that universe, that's the proper name for coyote furs. As lycan is for wolf or dog furs, bastet for cat furs, etc...

Any particular reason for the name?
Lycans- Lycanthropy, Bastet- Egyptian Mythology
Mican.. I though I knew Coyote stories fairly well, but that one doesn't ring a bell?

Mica is the name of coyote the trickster in Native American legends. So I adopted that word into the name of the species for this world.

Now that's interesting.. I must admit, having read a fair amount of coyote mythos, that's not a name I'd encountered. If you don't mind me asking, which source material turned that up? I'm really curious!
