Paintball is for civilians

So, imagine paintball, on a massive scale.
terrorists versus Army, with unorthodox ambushes going against superior numbers and coordinated tactics.
Then the gear. Each soldier is fitted with a suit of IR receivers, and has an IR emitter bolted to the barrel of his assault rifle.
Yeah, live weapons. no silly training aids here.
The emitters fire a bolt of energy when triggered by the shockwave a blank round produces, so you have to reload, fire, and listen to the gunfire just like a real fight.
Being killed sets off a sonic nightmare next to your ear as your suit starts screaming a high pitched beep. The only way to shut it off is with a special key attached to your rifle. Taking the key out of the rifle shuts it off, but inserting the key in the suit shuts that off, too.

The guys with no patches, like the far left dude, are brand new soldiers.
The guy in the middle is a former marine, learning to be a soldier. you can tell from the engineer patch on his left shoulder.
The guy on the right is also a "reclass", a former military guy learning a new job, but the patch on his right shows he was deployed.
Prior service guys treat weapons like weapons. new guys tend to treat them like toys.
But that's pretty neat, I have no idea what the patches meant and whatnot, all I knew is the people who have them are much much braver than me. >.> But I'm doing all I can to serve my countries, fix the big motha of a bomber. >.>
LOL!
