Day 3, the Calygreyhound
This creature, who looks nothing like a greyhound in any way, is seen on Medieval heraldry. It was sported on the coat of arms of the de Verde family, who were the Earls of Oxfort in the 15th and 16th century. Unlike most heraldic beasts, the Calygreyhound made no attempt whatsoever to seem realistic.
The Inktober initiative was started in 2009 by Jake Parker, because he wanted to improve his inking skills and build positive drawing habits. He invited other artists to draw along and since then, it has grown into a huge worldwide art event for practice, fun, inspiration and encouragement.
The challenge is quite simple: create one ink drawing every day of October. There is an official "Inktober prompt list", but many people have also made their own lists and some are simply doing whatever they feel like. I myself am following a mythological beasts prompt list created by Thornwolf, which can be found here.

I had to read up on this one; it's an interesting mythical, heraldic critter. Too bad they don't really exist.
(* surreptitiously offers the Calgreyhound a fresh roadkill turkey *)
You are progressing swiftly and magnificently with your mastery of the medium. I, myself, haven't worked with ink since the 1980s, and it was a tough row to hoe, then.
