I decided to draw Nomi shapeshifted as a fox. I've been wanting to explore different species a lot lately, and someone posted something with the tag "foxtober", giving me inspiration to do this. I chose the Pearl coat morph. This is in sumi ink and watercolor, and if anyone ever sees a purple shirt like that I want five.
Shapeshifting is a weird subject for me, and I've been giving it a ton of thought lately. It has a lot of deep personal significance, and part of that is represented here: My ability to play with, or temporarily adopt, another perspective. This has any number of purposes, from deliberately empathizing with a difficult person to simply deciding to let some of my usual behavioral traits slide in favor of others, for fun. The fox, makes me think of playfulness and mischief, and represents that a little better than my usual american lion/panthera atrox base. Some of my traits basically stay the same across any concrete form, though. Which is a whole other topic, and I may make a journal on that.
