Now that the Spyro Soundfont Collection got put out on the web recently, I took it upon myself to run midi files through that soundfont (or at least what's left of it after butchering it in the name of GM/GS/size optimizations). Here is one of those soundfont covers of popoular music midis that all the cool kids are doing. Somebody has to do this cover it's almost a MIDI tradition to run the CANYON.MID through all the synths and soundfonts.

It's not entirely all Spyro (more like Kurzweil) sounds though: the strings are from the Archano Soundfont that were tweaked to have only have the PC-88 (a Kurzweil synth) samples, and the drums probably contain additional sounds (probably from a Sound Canvas, video games and elsewhere) for GM-friendliness.
